Since I am more grounded when it comes to shopping for style, I thought I would share some of my top advice and tips so you can save yourself some extra cash for that nude lipstick you have always wanted.
There are obvious points such as shopping from charity shops, using discount codes and shopping during sale times but here are a few more tips to get you going.
#1 Hold a Swap Shop
So I have done one of these before with my friends and I thought it would be a great thing to do if you are on a budget or hate seeing clothes go to landfills.
All you need to do is get all your colleagues, friends and family members together, bring in all of your unwanted clothes, accessories and shoes (that are in good wearable condition) and host a clothes swap. to make things easier you could create small card stamps, the more clothes you bring the more stamps you receive and with the more stamps you can redeem clothes.
#3 Create a capsule wardrobe
I can not stress this enough! capsule wardrobes are going to be your best friend. Capsule wardrobes encourage you to keep pieces that match with as many things as possible in your wardrobe – that way you are maximising your wear.
In turn that decreases your cost per wear, meaning you can invest more into your clothes if you like and also helps with minimising your clothing collection itself. Capsule wardrobes aren’t as limiting as they seem. I recommend trying one if you are in a bit of a rut!
In turn, this decreases the cost of your wardrobe because you are not purchasing trending items. capsule wardrobes are not as limiting as people think, it just allows people to create casual everyday guide outfits that you can dress up or down as you please.
#2 Stop buying trend pieces
As I mentioned on the point above, purchasing trending pieces will increase the cost of your wardrobe as well as make it harder for you to create lasting outfits. Trending pieces are fun once in a while but they go out of fashion and look outdated very quickly.
#4 Make sure your new purchases match your existing wardrobe
When buying new clothes for your wardrobe you should consider buying pieces that match your existing wardrobe. Being more mindful with your choices means more pieces will match your wardrobe therefore you will have more outfits.
